I sure hope this means Loubardias is taking over the PBP duties on the radio...

I think I'll apply and tell them I have significant NHL coaching experience.

This is actually for the Fan 960.

It could mean Loubardias is moving to do PBP on TV once again.

Or I suppose it could also mean, in true Sportsnet fashion, that Loubardias is also out of a job.

I believe Maher and Sportsnet both said they haven't even thought of a replacement and are starting from scratch with the position.

Peter was excellent as the radio colour guy. Miles ahead of what Charlie was doing on the TV broadcast. I wonder which chair he moves to? I'd kind of like to see him take the colour job on the TV, and get someone totally new in the PBP seat.

Maher on the other hand.. you simply cannot replace. SN has a lot of searching to do.

Loubardias on tv scares me for one reason... Whenever he was on screen, he always had that intensity coupled with that crazy guy look (eg. eyebrows crumpled up like the angriest of men) that made me think he was going to go on some sort of violent rampage as soon as he was off camera.

Both PBP and colour positions for radio are open.

I posted this in the other thread, but Lubo was only signed on for 1 season. He could be back on the Fan960 or could move to another venue.

Sportsnet probably have someone in mind already. Maybe this is just the company's hiring policy to make a job posting just to get the process done.

Please NO to Loubardias!! I don't think he is that good. Sportsnet should go after Chris Cuthbert but that might be tough. I am sure there are more PBP candidates than PL..

Cuthbert re-upped with TSN. Not an option.

Loubo is great. I hate the fact he gates jerked around by Rogers.

This, and the twitchy, tourettes-like head turns he did when talking to Simmer. I honestly thought he might give himself whiplash.

Awesome PBP guy though. Visual distractions aside, I thought he did a great job and was disappointed when SN removed him in favour of Rob Kerr. I'd love to see him come back to the role - either on TV or Radio.

I wondered if maybe the Loubo to colour guy was engineered knowing that Pete was going to call it quits, and Loubo was getting a 1 year "transition" learn from the master season with Pete.

Looks like it might not have been that engineered, although just because there are job postings doesn't mean that Loubo doesn't have the inside track on a job, companies often have to "post" roles even if they know who they want due to fair process. Might be tones of existing Rogers employees who might want a "fair chance" at the job.

Still, I also wonder if Loubo personally knew Pete was on the way out, and took the gig for a year, at the very least to learn from a master of his craft. I'm sure he hopes it works out to more, but if Loubo really wants to be PBP guy, a season of learning from Pete M. isn't a bad thing to have under the belt.

They jerked around Millions, Loubo, Kerr, publicly demoting all three. It's just the way Rogers rolls and why all the top talent work for HNIC and TSN and why some of them still won't work for Rogers even after securing the rights.

They wouldn't jerk him around again though would they? I took this news to be almost certain he is back on TV. I hope he is on TV. Guy is a great fit for this team.

Didn't someone on here recently suggest that TV php might be someone legit like Mark Lee? Maybe Loubo does TV color.

Did they jerk Millions around? I think he genuinely enjoys hosting to play by play. Seems that way anyways.

Either way, weird to post a listing for this type of job. You figure it's for the former players that Sportsnet recruites, not for any George Costanza to apply for.

I vote for CP's own Pierre 'Monster' Maguire and sureLoss. That duo would cover everything and the rest of the continent would be listening in short order.

Pretty sure sureLoss's head is a computer and his brain is HootSuite.
