Default Aftermarket CD Deck

I have recently purchased and installed a new cd deck in my car. However I am very unhappy with the AM radio on it. I like to listen to the fan 960 but there is quite a bit of static. Also the volume seems to be lower on AM radio. Did I do something wrong during installation or is this common in aftermarket radios since the antenna cable doesn't fit %100?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had mine professionally installed and the AM radio is crystal clear. I feel like you may have done something wrong or purchased a lemon radio.

I would just check the antenna connection on your deck, it may have slipped a bit when inserting the deck back into the car. Most antennas are standard size and should fit in any aftermarket deck. You can also get an in-line signal booster for FM/AM.

I am not familiar with what that is?

Like this:

You could always try calling future shop/visions/anywhere that does car audio installs and see if they have any for sale.
