Retro jerseys
What would it take to convince the Flames organisation to use the retro jerseys as the primary Flames jersey next season? They look way better than any of the other jerseys.
CP jihad email campaign? http://flames.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=40733
A couple thousand emails might make Ken King realise that it would be a good idea...

Not this crap again...it is not happening which is a good thing. Leave them for special events and retro nights. How many threads do we need about jerseys?

Yeah, this crap again. I'm with 'zilla. Retros should be the only jersey this team wears. Retro reds at home and retro whites on the road. No third or special event jerseys. Every game should be considered a special event and that beautiful flaming C should be an honor to wear. The retros were the best uniforms in the game and the team experienced their greatest success wearing them. The team should make a conscious decision to try and restore the tradition that came with those jerseys and make them our primary and only uniform!

I just call them jerseys.
I am also in the camp that likes these the best, clean and classic.
But hey I am old.

I'm in on a jihad for this one. Retros back to being primaries, 2004 version as the thirds.
It's smart money, with that combination all have great tradition and a winning history behind them. The rest of the designs so far are just bad memories chasing after bad money. Hell even players have Inputted their preference for the retros.
I stopped buying sweaters after the 2004 version, except the retro, because I just.hated.them. And Ive bought and owned a flames pro sweater since 1980's. My man caves closet is a graveyard of old dead calgary flames sweaters.... It be worth just for my own ducat contribution to the team... *chuckles*

What I love about the Retros is that they don't look out-dated at all. They're easily the most stylish design in the league.
I haven't bought a jersey since the 04 design... Damned good jerseys. The current home sweater is very similar, but it's just not quite as classy as either the Retros or the 04 reds.

Everything about our current 3rd jerseys is a disaster, the sooner we can wash that chapter from our history, the better.

Until they stop being retro jerseys and become 'the jerseys'.

From what I have seen, whenever a jersey style goes on sale for half price, that's the end of it.
When I saw the sale last night, I figured this was the last game for the retros. We shall see. (I know some of you would be devastated by that)

The retros are outdated and they do not represent all of the Flames colours as there is no black. They are bland and boring which was great back in the 80's but look dated and blah now. The 2004 jerseys were the perfect design, bring those back and leave the retros for retro night. The people that want to dwell in jersey past can whine all they want but it won't matter because the team recognizes that you can't stay glued to the past. The retros will never be the full time jerseys again, I guarantee it.

So by this logic the islanders, Caps away jersey, Buffalos jersey and Edmonton's jersey are all outdated and boring? Talk about bland, black is about as bland as it gets. If you don't like them fine but every time the topic of retro jerseys comes up don't just crap all over them because you personally don't like them.

I have a feeling that this might become one of the more lopsided polls in recent times. I am curious to see how it pans out.

I emailed Ken King about switching to retro jerseys full time. Every time I have emailed him he has replied.

I like the red/yellow/white retros as a 3rd jersey to be worn maybe 6-10 times per year.
When evaluating past Flames jerseys purely on aesthetic considerations, though, the red/black sweaters introduced in 2003 are the best the team has ever had. Such a great design.

It's gotta be a little embarrassing for the organization when a jersey they worked on for a while just isn't loved. I'm guessing they still sold a ton though because there's always going to be people buying everything Flames. Fans complaining is one thing though, the team asking not to wear it is another.
the 2004 and retro are my two faves.

I really don't like the retros, but in comparison to the travesty that was the Heritage Classic jersey and is the Cowboy third jersey, they aren't anywhere close to as bad.
I wouldn't mind if they were brought out for events like last night or on the road if the opposition is doing a retro night, but not as team's third and certainly not as the day-to-day jersey.
