Amazon's 100 books to read in a lifetime
http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/06/living...html?hpt=hp_c3
How many have you read? I will embarrass myself as I haven't read much the last 20 years or so.
8 for me.

I was up to 40 something in their list and had only read one so I bailed on even going further.
I never read fiction.

I've read quite a number of those - more than 20. The last one on their list, Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, is awful and shouldn't have been included. It's been made into a movie, coming out in September this year (Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, etc).

I'm an avid reader, but have only read 16 of those. Some very weird selections though. Very subjective list.

I've read 42 of them, most of the children/young adult books, and a bunch of the classics, but not many of the contemporary fiction ones there.

i'm at a dozen. I think there are some pretty questionable ones that made the cut or were missed.

Yeah, I think I could go my lifetime without reading some of those books.

There's a serious lack of Dr. Seuss on that list.

17.
I feel really, really bad that I couldn't strike off most of that list, but actually did read Lolita.
Interpret that as you will

The fact that the Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy never made this list makes it incomplete.

I think I've seen more of the film versions of those than actually read.
I never read...

Only 5. Wow I thought I'd have had more than that. A few I've bought but haven't gotten around too, or have been meaning to buy.

39. I read way too much maybe.
If you have read Harry Potter, LOTR and Hobbit, Narnia, and the Hunger Games you are well on your way to 15.
I thought I saw Hitchhiker on that list.
