Good service vs. Attractive servers
What is your opinion on this seemingly strange concept.
If you go out for dinner, would you rather have good service or would you rather have an attractive server? Because at least in Calgary, they seem to be mutually exclusive in nature.
You know the type, they complain to their friends how hard their job is, they are rude to customers if they are having a 'bad day' (which happens all too often). But they are extremely attractive.
Or you could have the Denny's type, who work hard, get your drinks and order out with percision and aren't always easy on the eyes.
Does venue matter? Would you goto a pub/bar with good food, good service and no eye candy?

The quality of the service is more important to me that how a person looks.

I'm middle aged and hungry, I don't care how they look at this point. If they're attractive, that's just a bonus.

Funny you post this as I was thinking this literally at Denny's on Saturday morning when I had amazing service from an older lady who looked like she'd worked her whole life there. I think I'd have to go with good service....

I tip the same regardless of service unless it exceptionally bad.
Don't mind a flirty waitress though...

You're likely not going to pick them up anyway, so they might as well be good at their job as opposed to super attractive.

I'm extremely shallow and also easy to please, so I think you know where my vote goes.

I can live with a lot if my waitress is wearing a little black dress and heels with the hint of cleavage.

I don't care what my server looks like as long as he or she is polite, courteous, timely, and accurate.
Going a step further, I purposely avoid restaurants that very obviously only hire attractive servers. You know the places I mean -- Earl's, Joey's, and the like. I find that practice discriminatory and disgusting.

as long as the server's pleasant and brings me my food before I gnaw my arm off from hunger, I could care less what they look like.

I find the attractive ones go out of thier way to be charming and to a point where it's phoney. Sorry, but i'm not tipping you extra because you think your good looks should automaticly garner you a better tip.

I'm aware that some places will only hire attractive servers. For that reason I avoid places like that. I want good service and not someone flaunting their good looks.

A hint of boob gets you an extra 2%.

My friend won't go to certain pubs, because the service is "bad". Good service seems to include tolerating his come ons.

Good looking. Unless I going to some fancy place for dinner I don’t expect great service, but if I head down to Earls/Joeys/Local/ (insert average Calgary bar here) I expect to have a decently attractive waitress, who flirts with me enough to make me feel like I’m cool.

If I'm going to a fine dining restaurant then service is definitely more important. If I'm going to Joey's, Earl's, etc, then I'm going there to check out the waitresses, because nothing else about the place is good.
