Sorry, I'm off to hockey and don't have time to grab some Flames/Sharks pics. Can someone post some for me?

My memory is probably bad, but it seems to tell me that the Flames have made a tradition of ####ting the bed on HNIC in years past. The analysts will be happy to talk about the surprising start to the season, so I hope we don't give them reason to turn on us before the game is over.

SJ is arguably the best team in the league, and will be a stern test for the Flames. I'f we're luck maybe we can keep it close, force it to OT and see what happens. All I'm hoping for is strong effort like we've seen all season, and hopefully a close final score.

GO FLAMES GO!

Hopefully Joe doesn't score 4 goals.

I hope for the best, but San Jose has been extremely good so far. My prediction: the Flames fight hard and earn a point, but fall 4-3 in the shootout. Baertschi, Stempniak and Backlund score for Calgary, Monahan has two assists.

Joe could arguably go down as one of the best players in the league that never won anything...even with his ____Out.

had to get in the Tortorella quote.

Flames arent as big but are a quicker team.

I think we miss Cammy big time in this game.

i hope they insert Blair Jones and he plays his abrasive style and meritocracy rewards him with 3 points.

Play smart and stay out of penalty trouble and we oughta be okay.

I dont care if we lose.... just want effort and no blowouts .....although its gonna happen at some point.

If Butler plays we lose big time.

GO FLAMES GO

No changes to lineup expected beyond Ramo starting. Projected lines are on the official site.

Colborne between Bouma and Galiardi.

Street between Jackman and McGrattan.

Other lines and defence pairs intact. So no B. Jones, and Butler will dress.

The only team remaining with a 0 in the Loss column. It's time to end that.

Didn't the Flames end the Sharks ridiculous home winning streak a couple of years ago?

Looked it up: January 15, 2009, the Flames handed the Sharks their first home regulation loss of the season, after they started the season 20-0-2 in the Tank. Earlier that same season was the infamous wine tour that Keenan cancelled after the Flames were embarrassed 6-1 in San Jose.

Yesterday, Hartley said the only lineup change from Anaheim will be putting Ramo in net. A chance for Jackman and Butthead to redeem themselves.

Interesting line-juggling... Backlund between Glencross and Stempniak will hopefully give them a scoring kick Street doesn't have. Street will be with McGrattan and Jackman on the fourth line. Baertschi-Monahan-Hudler is the only line staying together from Wednesday. Rounding things out will be the Alberta Beef line of Bouma-Colborne-Galiardi.

Playing the best team in hockey at the moment. Could be rough, though if we've learned anything from the flames thus far, let's not count them out just yet.

Hope they come to play and are able to establish their game. Very curiuos how Monohan looks again tonight against a team that has some very strong centers.

Hopefully the flames put in a good effort.

This game will be either good or really bad!

Never, ever, ever utter that nickname again. Under penalty of death.

Nope, that's their name now and forever.

I'm going to email Mark Lee and tell him to call them that every time they're on the ice tonight.

When Smith was at his best a couple of seasons ago, he was always patient and held on to the puck just a little bit longer before making a play. Enough to have a calming presence on the ice. I'm really surprised he hasn't drawn in yet. The team has been getting results, but surely he would be a better option on the bottom pair than either guy playing there so far this season.

Oh well. If he keeps practicing hard and if he's healthy, he'll get his chances.

I'm going to the game!!!

I'm torn and I need CPs advice. Do I wear my authentic home Iginla jersey even though he's gone, or do I wear my generic road jersey?

Also taking a born and bred southern boy to his first ever live hockey game tonight...should be interesting.

wear the road jersey. We need to let everyone know that the Flames have moved on from the Iggy time, this is a new team and you're not cheering for Iggy any more. Are you making a sign???
