Coors Banquet Now In Canada
I can't believe there isn't a thread about this yet.
Coors Banquet might be the best mass production beer on the market, and thanks to a 23-year old and his Facebook page, it's finally available in Canada.

Short supply though.....16,000 can delivery gone in 48 hours. Glad I picked up 60 in the States a couple weeks ago.

It may have been because it was hyped up too much from friends, but I thought it was extremely average when I went down to the states.

Sounds like the 16,000 was just the initial shipment - it is being added to the regular lineup:
Quote:
“It was a huge success from that standpoint and we saw the demand was there. Based on people asking for it we decided to give them what they want,” Gathercole said, adding that Molson Coors donated a dollar for every can sold to the Red Cross to assist with Alberta flood clean-up efforts.
Gathercole says the company will be rolling out the beer later this week which means it could be on some Alberta liquor store shelves as early as this weekend. The beer will be available across the country, except in Quebec. And the company plans to keep it a permanent addition to their beer catalogue. It will be brewed in Golden, Colorado and will be available in 12 packs of cans.

Mmm, gods pee in a can. Love coors banquet. Don't care about the American vs Canadian beer debate either. My tastebuds are fans of this stuff.

I was pleasantly surprised to find some at Co-op Saturday afternoon. I'm a fan, so this is great news.

I personally haven't tasted it but I have heard it just doesn't have that same taste as the American version. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Interesting. They've got to be the only mass-produced beer to do that, no?

Haha, $30 a dozen for swill in a can. Sucker born every minute I tell you. The novelty will wear off pretty quickly I'd imagine.
Don't get me wrong, its a great cheap beer @ the ridiculous american prices, but not when you can get good local beer for less than $2 a bottle.

Best mass produced beer ever. Toured the plant last year and was one of the best days of my life.

If it really is $30 per dozen I'm sure the novelty will wear off. For comparison it's $20 for 30 cans in Montana (with no deposit).

Here is a copy/paste of of one of the guys on another board I frequent as it looks like he found some locally.
Well I got a case, but I wasn't expecting the price tag, Just under $29 for 12. For the price I think I'll just stick with PBR, $20 for 15 pack.

Never heard of it. Does it taste like Coors Extra Gold? I didn't mind that.

That is extortion of the grandest scale. I don't pay more than $20 for a 30 pack in AZ.

It came out to about $29 for 12 at Co-op, sold in 6-packs.

Yeah, I like it, but it's definitely not a $30 for a 12 pack beer. It's one of the better mass produced beers, but it's still a mass produced beer.
