The team already has too many forwards and especially too many meh forwards so why sign a malcontent who has already shown that he doesn't have what it takes to help teams at the NHL level?
I understand the baggage with him, but the statement that we have too many forwards should be , too many unskilled forwards. The guy has skill and he might be a low risk high reward option. He would easily be the most skilled forward on the team.

There is a reason that he isn't in the NHL right now and looking for work in the KHL.
He doesn't have close to enough talent to overcome all the negatives he has and certainly doesn't have enough talent to make a difference on this team to make up for the laziness, crappy attitude and do-nothing to help the team attitude he would bring.
Can't think of a single positive reason to add him to the Flames his supposed skill included.
