Vegas has the Flames dead last in the West next season

Odds to win the 2013-14 Western Conference
 Team Odds

 Chicago Blackhawks 5/2
 St. Louis Blues 7/2
 Vancouver Canucks 5/1
 Los Angeles Kings 7/1
 San Jose Sharks 7/1
 Anaheim Ducks 9/1
 Edmonton Oilers 15/1
 Minnesota Wild 20/1
 Winnipeg Jets 20/1
 Dallas Stars 25/1
 Nashville Predators 25/1
 Colorado Avalanche 25/1
 Phoenix Coyotes 30/1
 Calgary Flames 50/1

Seems about right....though i am stumped as to how the Kings are a longer shot that Vancouver....and LOL at the Oilers where they are.

Vegas must really be buying what MacT is selling.
As for Calgary, i agree. Unless Feaster pulls a couple of rabbits out of a hat, i suspect the flames will be ranked dead last in the NHL by all media and Vegas.

I'd put us last too, but I am a little surprised that our odds are twice as bad (or good, depending on your perspective) as any other team in the West.

Having the least odds to win the western conference =/= having the Flames finishing last.

That's not odds for finishes but odds for winning the conference, right? Not the same thing at all.
In any case, I have no problem with projections that we finish last until we show some reason we shouldn't be. I don't see too many teams that we project to be better than next year.

Yeah, we're gonna be bad next year. I'd be shocked if the Flames had still not drafted in the top 5 by the time we're on the other side of this rebuild.

So not many people are betting on the Flames? Not very surprising.

Seems about right as of right now.
We haven't done anything to improve our team for next season and to be honest I'm hoping it stays that way. Focus long term not short term fixes.

I'd be pretty choked if my $10 bet on the Flames finishing first only paid me back $500.

I don't see Nashville near the bottom of the conference. I think they are a lot better than what they showed this year, and were hit pretty hard by injuries. They really missed Hornqvist, Wilson and Gaustad among others. I'd guess they will be back in the playoffs next year.

Makes sense, the Flames roster at this point is completely devoid of proven, top level talent.

No proven goalieTop two centres would be bottom six players on any playoff team
 Best D has 13 games as a 25-minute a night D
Chris Butler and Alex Tanguay present on the roster
Have to play all 82 games.

 Greatness awaits.
