The effort is gone.
Ovechkin gave 110% every shift when he was at his best, now he gives nothing.
I swear there was a shift where he literally took three full strides the whole shift.

He's right, Ovechkin is lazy and a primadonna.

He's playing like he wants a buyout to return to Russia.
Absolutely no heart or desire.

He did finish like 6th in goals last season. Sub-par for him.. but still better than us Flames can say.

He's playing like just an average first line player now. Something similar happened to Jagr back when he was in Washington. It took the lockout and playing in Siberia to re-ignite his passion for playing NHL hockey. Maybe the Olympics will turn things around for Ovechkin. The skill is definitely there, just lacking the effort.

He has already been confirmed to be holding the flag for the opening of the games.
I watched Ovi a couple of games ago and he was on fire. Seems like he likes to take nights off. I doubt he will do the same when playing in front of his home country.

Iggy had more points than Ovy did last year.

Milbury may be correct in his assesment but I sure get tired of listening to his almost constant negativity and hyperbole. He and Glen Healey have the ahole hockey analyst schtick nailed down.

Milbury is an ass. He should keep his yap shut as he single handedly destroyed the Islanders due to his inability to judge talent.

Kesler dives and that is where the similarities end. Kesler tends to battle hard, gets the crap kicked out of him, gets in the dirty areas, won the Selke trophy for being the best defensive forward (even though it is for someone who can score goals and not be awful in their own end)... the fact is that if you are looking for players who are the opposite of Ovechkin, Kesler would be closer to that.

He's a sniper, and everyone knows he isn't one to pass. Obviously 65 points isn't good enough when you are Ovi, but 38 goals shows that he's still got it, even though he's slumping.

Yes Milbury is an ass, but those highlights of Ovy during that game were disgusting. I'd take a 35 year old Iggy over this guy right now.

Remember when people actually thought Ovi was a better player then Crosby? I think we can put that argument to rest now....

He's still owed $79 million after this year.
