Default PC Gaming Thread

A place at last where us Colbert Platinum members can discuss fancy gaming on our 1500 dollar machines... and avoid the riff raff of XBOX and PS users.

Seriously tho I liked the idea in the help forum and here we are.

I'll start us off with steam. How great is that? Anyone have some steam game recommendations?

Currently playing:

MechWarrior: Online - Free - http://www.mwomercs.com

Natural Selection 2 - $25 - http://store.steampowered.com/app/4920/

Civilization 5 - $50 w/ all xpacs - http://store.steampowered.com/app/4920/

Also have a few SP games I'm slowing meandering through, Sleeping Dogs, Far Cry 3, Hitman:Absolution.

I also pre-ordered Aliens: CM but haven't touched it. There are 2 huge projects by fans to overhaul the game and make it not total crap, so I'm just kinda twiddling my thumbs until they are done.

In general, my life is better because I am a PC gamer. If I were a consoler, my life would be demonstrably worse.

Is this just correlation or does it indicate causation?

Spoiler!

More or less accurate depiction of the differences between the PC master race and the console rabble.

PC gamer problems: too many games, not enough hard drive space (nor time).

I love both console and PC gaming...I'm not sure why this has to be separated...

Action games/RPGs/Adventure games should be played in the living room, but I have no idea how people can play an FPS or RTS on anything but a computer.

I've also never understood the fan boys who claim one experience is better then another. My Wii U is not as good as any of the PC/Xbox/PS3, but the games are fun. Xbox and PS3 are usually identical.

Back to computer talk, picked up Crysis 3 with my i7 with a Geforce 660 and it looks amazing. Best graphics I have seen. Just amazing.

As an avid MMOer do I still count as a PC gamer?

I got 7 hours into Skryim before getting bored and uninstalling it from my comp.. thats twice as far as D3!

(Play in the living room or play on PC ) = false dichotomy

PC is versatile, it can be whatever it wants (including hooked up to a TV)
