NJD GM meets the devil
After a tremendous first season leading the Devils to the Eastern Conference finals and an offseason that saw the Devils acquire the top two defenseman available in free agency while skirting the salary cap; Former New Jersey Devils stamptheseflames has announced his retirement as the President, General Manager, Coach of the hockey club.
The NJ roster is arguably the best in the NHL, stacked with young talents and cheap contracts while being well balanced (with the exception of third/fourth line depth). The core of the team has been signed to long term, affordable contracts while the majority of the core still has room to grow.
Kovalchuk - J. Toews - Okposo
Van Riemsdyk - H. Sedin - Simmonds
Beach - Dubinsky - Conacher
Scrub - Scrub - Scrub
Johnson - Edler
Demers - Ekman-Larsson
Faulk - Sekera
Pavalec
Helenius
Like recent ex-CEO of Encana, stamptheseflames reportedly retired due to fatigue. So far no interim GM has been named, but with a team of that is ready to win now and for the next decade it is only a matter of time before the vacant spot will be filled. The question is: Can they fill the shoes of one of the better GMs in the Connected League?
