when i was making my big trade earlier for JVR, i asked jobo about this and from what he said waived players are open game regardless if it's because of trades or not. i had to clear out roster space in anticipation of the trade and therefore didn't have any players placed on waivers that i didn't put through myself

Jobo did say there would be open season on waivers at some point. Was that ever actually ever decreed?

pretty sure it was...that was why i asked jobo since i thought i should get a mulligan since i couldn't send acquired players directly to minors.

The wavier protection is still intact since I've never announced a official change to it yet, since there are issues in any change that is done, whether staying status quo, making it open season, or turning off waivers flat out. When you talked to me about it, it was discussion over the potential change.
For now the wavier rule will remain the same until season's end.
