Well, Kassian and Johansen are two solid rookies, and both will be solid NHLers. I wouldn't call them spare parts.

But I agree, San Jose wins this hands down. Kassian and Johansen aren't even close to fair value for Giroux alone, forget about Giroux AND St. Louis.

EDIT: AND two 2nd rounders?! San Jose, what did you do? Get NYI drunk before proposing this trade?

Lol.... Kassian, a forth liner border line 3rd, and sub 80 player and Johansen another borderline 3rd line player atm and around 80 rating even with thier potential do not equal arguably the best or easily top 3 players in the game, Giroux. Period.

Add in St.Loius and the more i see this deal, the more it stinks of something not right.

He inherited a team that is low in the standings and is looking to rebuild. He said his team is too small and gets pushed around too much, which is why he was willing to move G and St. Louis.

Also, unless you have played with Kassian, you won't know is true value. Even at his low rating at this stage in the game, he is a bulldozer out there.
