Default Web Streaming on TV/Receiver

Ok, so this may sound strange, but I recently found stereomood.com and think it's great. The wife and I like to listen to tunes via our TV/Receiver so we quite often simply load up our first generation AppleTV and load one of the various Internet radio stations AppleTV has listed. Problem is, I have no way of getting stereomood this way.

Yes, I know I could hook up a computer to our stereo receiver/tv setup, but my computer is upstairs and it wouldn't be easy to simply move it to hook it up in the living room. I don't have a laptop or anything that is portable.

Ideas? Any way to get to stereomood.com on AppleTV? I did some searching and I think it's possible, but it seemed quite involved in trying to hack AppleTV and load a web browser, etc. Any help or minimal cost (free would be best) suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Its actually pretty straightforward to hack the Apple TV. Go to Firecore http://firecore.com/ and follow the instructions to using Seasonpass to jailbreak the ATV. Then you pay $39 ( I know its not a free solution, but I think it is worth it) and install the web browser. you also get a media player which is killer, allowing you to stream videos and songs stored on your computer without having to use iTunes.

Thanks. I'll check it out. Don't really have the extra $40 right now though...

Get it on your new HTC Android phone and a two-way stereo cable into the headphone jack and plug it into your sound system. If you kept your Captivate around you could have used it for that.

Stupid question, but after flashing the Apple TV unit iTunes would still stream through it, right?

I've been researching what type of media stream solution to get. Having expanded capability on Apple TV might be the best solution!

The Apple TV works exactly the same after jailbreaking as before, iTunes works, airplay works, netflix works. The new programs installed (media player, web browser, etc.) are added extra

AirFoil will allow you to stream any program's audio to an AppleTV (and any other AirPlay device). Has both a Mac and Windows version.
