Default So, I got tired of manually tracking my POTM stats.

With the POTM coming up soon, I was dreading having to go over my 20some games played and writing down everything or alt-tabbing between screens and going back and triple checking my math to make sure that everything was correct.

So I sat down and built a simple stats calculator.

It's not much right now, but it saves me 10-15 minutes when figuring out POTW and will probably save me an hour when doing POTM.

Right now it imports skater games played, G, A, P, +/- for any number of games. All I have to do is copy/paste the stat tables for the skaters into a text box, press a button and all the data is added up and displayed.

It doesn't do goalie stats yet, but that'll probably happen soon. It will eventually be expanded to include all other stats (shots, PIM, etc). There's also a few data view related things I'd like to do (color coding the leaders in each category, sortable data, etc), but I really only spend about a half hour on it per week.

If anyone wants to try it out before the POTM arrives, let me know and I can email you the program. It's a .NET program, so you'll need to have a computer with the .NET framework installed (if you use windows Vista+ you should be good to go).

Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

That's okay. Montreal's not cheap like other teams. We are willing to invest in internal statisticians as one of the small, but vital pieces involved in sustaining this proud and glorious franchise.

Seriously, though. Nice work. I like to track the other stats as well, so this isn't super useful for me right now, but there has been many a time when I've wished there were a less tedious way to track these stats.

I blame the language laws.

I will eventually have all of the stats tracked, so I'll come knocking when that's done

Nerd!

Any way you can whip up something that combines player ratings with actual age and contract info?
