Well done, Natalie Glebova.
BANGKOK, Thailand — Blue-eyed Canadian brunette Natalie Glebova was crowned Miss Universe 2005 in the Thai capital Tuesday in the 54th annual pageant.
The 23-year-old model from Toronto was chosen from five finalists -- the four others from Latin America -- who were selected to answer random questions onstage in the final round of the competition.
Story
Was flipping back and forth from CSI, and was happy she made top 15, then top 10, then wow... top 5. Then the other 4 fell by the wayside.... cool.

I didn't really think she was all that pretty. I think Peru, Mexico and Switzerland were way more deserving. The fact Venezuela made it to the top five and USA made it to the top ten were both jokes. The US girl looked like a man. She was obviously not "fat", but she sure looked fat compared to all the other women in the competition. She looked like a plus size model, not fat just big boned. And she looked like a man.
Congratulations to Miss Rus...err I mean Miss Canada. Has a canuck ever won the thing before?
I thought Peru should have won. She was smoking.

She is in the IT stream at Ryerson here in TO.
Imagine having her in your class - damn!
Her poor b/f here in Toronto though. His initial excitement of dating Miss Universe will soon be replaced by the realization that she is now wayyy outta his league

She does not look like a man, but if you spend 10 minutes in a supermarket you can meet 5 women who look like her. Pretty ordinary look.

Congrats to Natalie...you could tell from the start she had the pizzazz.
She will represent well.
As to Miss USA The picture shown above does not represent what I saw on stage. Even my wife said the fix was in. She looksed very boxy not tall or slender like the other contestants.
I was VERY happy to see that 90% of the contestants were dark haired as opposed to the atypical blonde. It was a sight to behold.

I went to University with Lana Buchberger (2nd place Miss Universe) before she went and became Mrs Rick Tabarraci. Wasn't that that big a deal but then again hot girls are a plenty at the Haskayne School of Business. Those "Playboy, Women of IT" issues haven't made yet for a reason.
Wasn't one of the Apprentice winners (Bill Rancic?) a judge in this one? Perhaps the bad-haired-one himself was a judge? We know he likes Slavic women....

Anyways I really thought Miss Mexico was gonna win it, out of the top 5 she was definitely the hottest in my books
