Of course it looks like the Saddledome, it is one of the best structures for concerts and other musical events it minimizes sound distortion due to its structure. The dome wasn't the first to employ such a design I don't believe, and this stadium won't be the last.

Giant Maxi-Pad? :P

While good for concerts, I've always wondered if the 'wings' of the Dome roof actually take away from the noise the crowd is able to generate. Seems like a natural baffle, as opposed to a concave roof which would reflect it. Doesn't help they have those damn foam tiles in there, some sort of system to remove them for games would be great, however impractical....

There are many arenas with the hyperbolic parabola roof. The one in Athens, one in Finland, the old arena where the Capitals played. There was a thread on the old board that had pictures of many of these arenas around the world.
