Default Shaw HD-PVR Question

I am 99% sure I know the answer to this question, but I'd just like to get cofirmation as I don't use Shaw.

Can you have multiple PVRs in multiple rooms; and have those PVRs both recording different shows at the same time? For example, I have a PVR in the living room and another in the bedroom. Can the LR PVR be recording TSN while the BR PVR is recording Discovery Channel?

I ask because my uncle was out shopping for a PVR, and some commission saleman told him he couldn't record on both at the same time. The saleman was trying to sell the Shaw whole home thingy; which is more money than my uncle wants to spend.

You can record at the same time. I had a dct6414 in the bedroom and a dcx3400 in the living room up until I got the Gateway last week.

I should add you can record 2 shows on each. It's only dependant on the number of tuners in the STB. We used to record some shows at the same time on both because we liked having the option to watch it in bed.

I don't know how one digital box would even know that another digital box is recording, never mind not being allowed to record if another one is recording.

If you weren't allowed to record at the same time on separate PVRs, you wouldn't be allowed to watch TV off of separate PVRs at the same time either.

Bingo....that sales rep is full of occupy Calgary poop. I'd be making a phone call to that sales rep's manager.
