I haven't seen this, but I would guess you have a wireless b/g router. What is the model?
Have you tried rebooting the router and then try to connect the phone?
Do you know if your cellphone has the latest firmware upgrade?
I googled your problem and it seems some people have experienced the same issue as yours, but I haven't been lucky just finding useful stuff.

My wifi was wonky constantly on my Galaxy S. It turned out to be my router. Once it was replaced, my wifi has been solid.

It's a d-link DIR-615. It's N compatible.
My cellphone has the latest firmware upgrades... I've tried my phone on every other router and no problems. I'm not sure why...

I have the Galaxy S also... maybe it's not compatible with certain routers. I just hate to spend another $100 bucks on another router because of this.

Try Tinordi's tip, and also reduce the beacon interval on your router if possible, that can help prevent network drops.

I'll try this beacon interval... I've never heard of this before.
It just automatically drops the entire network whenever I connect with my phone then it comes back once I turn off wireless. Like within seconds...

I'd be interested to know if only your phone is on your network (No PC's etc...), does the phone work on wi-fi? Since both your computer and phone dropped connection, it almost sounds like a duplicate IP. I'd be curious to know what your phone and PC IP's were at the time of failure.
Another thing to try is to make your wireless network as open and simple as possible. Turn on SSID broadcast, disable all authentication and encryption, turn off any MAC address filtering you may have and if your router has the option for 802.11 Mixed mode, then turn that off and choose one. I'd try 'G' first since I don't know if your PC has 'N' support or not. If this works, then start adding one thing back and check again and continue as often as required.
If this doesn't work, then I may be more inclined to look at the phone. Does your phone's wifi work on other wireless networks? Have you installed any apps recently or about the time when your wireless started failing?

Well that's what it was in my case. Now with the new router, no issues at all. Same goes for work, that router always worked without fail. In my case, it was the router for sure. Guess it depends on how old your router is. Mine was pretty old.

He mentioned he has multiple computers, so I doubt it this is a problem. But I would check the IP address on each of the computers and the phone as well.

This is a great idea.

I would go with the router. He mentioned his router is about four years old, and that's normally the life span of home routers.
wooohooo also said he has connected to other wireless routers with no issues.
I would also suggest if you have the time and money, is to buy another router from Best Buy or Future shop. Configure it similar to your current router and test it. If it works great, if not, you can always return it.

Really appreciate the information guys. I think I rather just buy a new router. Is there a big difference between the lowest model routers that are about $40 bucks to the high end $100+ ones? I don't do much other than surf, download and sometimes play Xbox live. I also live in a 1 bed room apartment.

Looking at the prices at Best Buy, the more expensive routers offers PoE (Power over Ethernet), 1 GB 4 port switch and Dual band.
PoE is not needed, more than likely you don't have any PoE ready equipment with you.
The 1GB 4-switch is neat if you are going to do file transfer between a computer and a server using network cables, but it's not necessary.
I think for your situation, you can go with this router:

Why don't you just buy the same router as Oilkiller? He has a Galaxy S and his router has made a world of difference.

That's a good point also. What kind of router you got OilKiller?
That router also looks good... on sale too. The router I'm using is the cheapest d-link one so maybe I'll upgrade a tad.

Got this one:

Most likely not the best router there is, but it works well for us, and I have not had a single issue with it. My phone has never not connected the instant I walk into the house and my AppleTV has been flawless since getting it as well.
