Holy crap, I can't believe I forgot to post this sooner!
On June 15th the
Funk Brothers will perform a charity concert for
Youville Recovery Residence for Women at the
Jack Singer Concert Hall. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear the musicians that put the backbeat and the soul into the countless hits of Motown for such legendary performs as Marvin Gaye, the Temptations, Diana Ross, Supremes, Jackson Five, The Four Tops, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles to name only a few.
This band of musicians played on more #1 records than the Beatles, the Beach Boys, the Rolling Stones, and Elvis Presley combined.
Your participation will help change, even save the lives of the women and children who count on
Youville at critical times in their lives.
I think there are still tickets available. They are approx $90. There is also an after-party at the "Grand Theatre" (admission is with a ticket to the Jack Singer show) where Gary Martin & The Heavenly Blues will be joined by the Funk Brothers for another performance.
This is a chance to meet two very special musicians who's careers have made them legends and a huge piece of music history.
