Default TorrentDay

Can't believe there is no thread on this... so makes me think I'm breaking a rule i don't know... delete and warn please... I'm not trying to be bad...

I love this bit torrent site, but to keep my ratio up I share as much as I have from them... but I'm seeing some serious slowdowns lately even when my torent tools are saying nothing is upping or dl at any major degree... like maybe 10 up and 10 down max. That's not new... but now its like I have 60 up the moment they are on... it makes no sense. so I re-installed peerblock and added a few anti p2p lists... Still have same issue when i turn the torrent tools on. either one. u-torrent and Tixati. doesn't matter... wtf is going on. my slow down is only when they are on. either one. just turning them on for ratio credits... the slow down is brand new. the site and clients are not.

so i changed settings, quit sharing when im 2:1 ratio. no change even though 85% of my torrents immediately stopped sharing. still internet dead pretty much...

WTF

I am having trouble deciphering what you are writing. Are you saying that your download and upload speed are slower than usual? Give an example of what your standard speeds are and what they are now. Perhaps you are being throttled? Perhaps you don't have the proper ports open on your router despite UPnP?

It doesn't matter if 85% of your torrents are nolonger sharing. 15% of your torrents can easily eat up all your bandwidth and the constant drive access and CPU processing can slow your computer down as well.

The best way to deal with this is to set an overall upstream/downstream cap for the entire program.

I've found that the best solution to slow torrent speeds is switching to usenet.

Well, at least that's what I've read anyway. I'd never have any first-hand knowledge...
