Blackwood's stats need a bit closer look though. Wildly inconsistent. Started out with 3 losses (though one was a backup shutout). He had two shutouts late December, and got a 15 minute shutout win via shootout against Chicago. He played a good game his last time out against Montreal, but that was way back Feb. 2. The three before that were terrible. In one he let in 3 goals on 14 shots in a whole game. Against Anaheim!
So his numbers reflect 4 shutouts (two in less than half a game though). .963 in December and .882 in January.

Prout has been solid but lets get the new guy in and see what he has. Limited minutes so little risk ultimately.
Not that we need to worry. Seemed to be fine in L.A.

On a back to back it's probably better to have a fresh third pairing defencemen. Prout did his job yesterday, lets see what the new guy brings.

They are both set up to be depth defencemen in the playoffs, so why not see what both have to offer before that time?
I thought Prout was fine last night, and has been for a while. Let's see what Fantenberg has to offer.

This may also be a good time to bring in Lazar for some extra energy. Sit someone down for a game who might need the rest.
The Flames have a really good opportunity to extend their lead in the pacific division against a weak opponent. That being said, I hope they play much better than they did against the Senators on Sunday.

Hopefully nobody shows the Flames players that lineup. The last time we played a similarly poor group of players, we were a goal post away from losing in the last minute. It definitely has trap game potential. Let's put em away early and often.

Flames fans are a diverse group, so probably not.
On a back-to-back, though, against Eastern teams, it makes sense to get the new depth guy in.
