Having a sapphire crystal helps with the scratches as it should not scratch unless something major happened to it.

The scratches on the band still happens but that can buffed out and shined up again.

I've bought from http://www.prestigetime.com/ before. They are a grey market seller. Their prices will be significantly cheaper than buying from a licensed dealer, but you will not get warranty etc. like you get from a dealer.

Slightly OT but the Obituary in a recent Economist was about George Daniels a Master Watchmaker and I thought some of you might like it.

Very nice. Such good deals for the price, Seiko. I'd love to get my hands on a Grand Seiko one of these days....

Here's my Samurai on a Nato strap (replaced the hands). Absolutely love this watch...its super tough and stands out nicely in an old-school sort of way. Best $200 I've spent.

Back when I still had the SS on it...comparison shot with the Speedmaster.

Only $200 for that? I love the vintage look.

I've been dreaming about the Stealth for awhile now and unfortunately it will only stay a dream for a long time... a little out my price range.

Any new CP watches out there btw? Personally, with having a wedding, moving x-country, and buying a car in the last few months, 2011 has put a real hold on my watch buying activities....might be a long while till I add a nice one to the collection.

I did manage to sneak this one in though. A cheapo that's been on my wish list for a while now. It plays up to the designer stereotype quite nicely.

I love it. It's not all that flashy unless you really look closely. We went to a bunch of different AD's before we found one that would negotiate on the price.

this one. We had it in the store before Nixon changed their elite class dealer agreement. It looked sexy and sold pretty much the second I put it in the case.

I really like both of these. So tempted to copy your SBB purchase... that is freaking cool and you can't beat the price.

I was trained under an horologist (fancy name for the dude that fixes, or...changes batteries in your watch) for 7 of my younger years in life and absolutely LOVE watches. Have seen some pretty sweet posts on here!

I hate to admit it, but I actually don't even wear watches that often anymore.
When I do, I rock this fella for normal stuff...

And this one for dressy occasions...

Dream watch for sure though is an Omega Seamaster. I have been inside many watches and Omega's are easily the best on the market for the price.

It's definitely a nice timeless design for the price. Mondaine has quite a few different variations on the basic Railway watch design theme (wall clocks too), so I'd recommend checking them all out if you like this one.
