Default World Junior Russians Disrupt Flight

Could the Russians act more stereotypical ?? Smoking, vaping, no masks and listening to Russian rock on blast ?

Being a flight attendant does not seem so great these days. Holy Jesus.

$1.1 billion people.

Unless you meant “who the hell still smoke on the plane?”, of course.

Yea it's wild to me that a bunch of high level hockey players under the age of 20 smoke cigarettes in 2022.

Why? Nicotine is a very potent, very powerful and very addictive chemical. It’s a vice, like many other addictive vices. People enjoy it and suffer the consequences.

I’m shocked they managed to get a lighter into the plane, unless it was just all vaping

And yes, smoking is slowly trending down in North America but globally it has only plateaued in many places. And while the younger generations aren’t picking up the habit as much as they used to, it’s tough for 75 year olds to kick a 60 year old habit

I’m surprised it’s that low. You can go to parts of the world (I’m sure Eastern Europe is one of them) where people still smoke everywhere, like they did here 25 years ago.

Its funny, people think they're dicks because their typical behavior doesn't abide by western societal standards we follow here, but its a very different culture there. People are blunt, honest and laid back. They do what they want when they want, and its not out of the ordinary to be that way to people who live there. It's kind of life over there. If you read on the experience of people spending time in Eastern Europe from North America you'll come to see this.

Was not masking indecent and ####y of them? Sure.

But its so like north Americans to look down their nose and judge people that live a different way. Which is funny, because for many here they secretly just want to be doing what the Russians do without worry of lashback for doing it.

I’m pretty sure in Russia you can just get up and start flying the plane yourself if you want.

There is near universal airplane etiquette that abides to all peoples and countries flying commercial flights. Being first-class #######s and not thinking there will be consequences is just childish privileged behavior.

I am so busted.

There is nothing more I would love to be doing in a middle of a pandemic than getting into an enclosed space with a bunch of my buddies and a bunch of strangers and break every rule concerning prevention of viral spread while also breaking other rules about consuming tobacco inside same enclosed space and all the while probably terrifying a few, pissing off all of them by having the plane delayed over 2 hours and thinking....hey i do what i want to do, screw those judgey people.

Well, not specifically that activity on an enclosed airplane. But in general.

We don't exactly have a lot of freedoms here at the moment, even with omicron being about as harmful as a moderate cold and most of us being double vaxxed.

People want to let loose here and not have it be a huge problem like it is. It's natural they would hate on the care-free recklessness of the Russians, as opposed to just calling it dumb and moving on.

There is clearly a bit of emotional charge and snideness in responses here.
