What does it say about America when out of all the things Trump has done - the lowest his approval rating ever got was the government shutdown.

This is perhaps the all-time "I know non-white people, I'm not a racist" attempt (that of course is on track to horribly backfire and become the all-time self own).

That a lot of people don’t pay attention to government unless it affects them directly? And I doubt that outlook is peculiar to Americans.

I don't know why this doesn't drive progressives to fully support Biden. For all the talk that Biden is no different than Trump to their lives, these Supreme court decisions make real differences to real people. RBG probably won't survive a second Trump term and if her vote is flipped, then these decisions and all future decisions would assuredly go the other way.
|
Ah.. smart by Trump. Lots of republicans care about making the courts as Conservative as possible. Democrats tend to care less (although this regime may have changes things)

Fivethirtyeight just published their first polling average for the 2020 election.
https://fivethirtyeight.com/features...ts-nationally/
Biden is up by 9 points nationally, which is a bigger lead than Clinton had at any time in 2016. In swing states, Biden is up in almost all of them by various amounts. They have him up by 6.9% in Florida, but I don't trust that lead at all. Florida has let me down too many times in the past. Trump is up by only 0.7% in Texas! There's been talk of Texas becoming a purple state for years as demographic trends show it becoming both more urban and more Hispanic, factors which favour the Democrats, but I would have thought it would be a safe Red state for at least a few more election cycles. In the three tipping point states that Clinton critically lost in 2016, PA, MI, and WI, Biden currently leads by 5.3%, 10.2%, and 6.6%, respectively.

This could get interesting..... HR did send out an email about working remotely to avoid all the activity. But my boss made us come into the office through the entire lockdown, so I'm not sure it will help me much.

So when they say or sing ‘Keep America Great’, they’re actually saying America is great right now? Like, this is it? This is what greatness looks like?

This is in response to his faux outrage yesterday over the idea that he doesn't love his non-existent black children.

I wouldn't put it past the Trump administration to create some kind of foreign threat just prior to election to boost his support. American's seem to buy it every time.

It's not a Nazi salute, it's a Roman salute. It's totally legal and totally cool.
