Drinking at a bar called The Works on 1st street (where the Drum and Monkey was). The entire bar was tuned into (and yelling at) the TV during happy hour.
I couldn't resist and looked up the photos. Oh man I can't imagine how much anger and spite required for a man to mutilate those two people like that. I wonder how often he has flashbacks of those moments or if he was out of his mind and it's just a blur to him.
If you search for "O J Made in America The murders of Ron and Nicole step by step" on YouTube there's a hypothetical breakdown of the murder by one of the members of the DA's office, taken from the above mentioned documentary, as to how he thinks it occurred and the scene photos.
I don't recall the chase so I was probably working and no access to TV so missed the entire thing. I do remember the verdict, was on a flight from SLC to OKC and the pilot announced it over the PA.
I do remember it being a Friday and coming home from work and it was on CNN. I didn't know who OJ even was until that week as he had retired from football already.
I went and looked at the video Nik mentioned, just brutal. I saw another documentary after and watched the trial but yeah OJ did this.
The families of Ron and Nicole must still be struggling with this knowing pretty much exactly what happened, same with the investigators. And it was someone walking their dog that came up this crime scene and the dog going nuts, it's crazy that this even happened and it's still very fresh in my opinion.
If not for 9/11 this would probably be the seminal moment of our lifetimes. I remember watching the verdict in class because our LA teacher had one of those portable TVs to watch on. Just not many events that everyone instantly knows about more than this.
I'd say Challenger in '86 would be right up there as well.
Norm Macdonald was fired from SNL over his OJ jokes, they weren't funny then just like they're not funny now. Is that why you guys are bringing them up or do you think they're funny?
Norm also said as just a couple years ago he's still looking to write the perfect joke, maybe comedy just isn't his thing.

He was fired for continuing to make OJ jokes even after he was told to stop because an NBC executive was a friend of OJ
The meta makes them even more ####ing hilarious. Every joke is a direct "#### you".
