Aulie hasn't looked out of place at the NHL level. He's more ready than brodie/pelech to play at this level in my opinion.

Perhaps - but he also doesn't have a ton of upside and never did.

The Flames fortune's were never tied at all to Keith Aulie. He's the exact type of player that some fans like to blast the organization for having "too many of" yet when he leaves he's suddenly missed.

not sure what your point is.

Aulie was not traded for Staios. If you want to compare him against players he was traded for you have to look at Hagman, Stajan and now Babchuk. Staios is irrelevant to the Phaneuf/Aulie deal.

Erixon now has 3 goals and 9 assists for 12 points in 23 games.
Last year he had 7 goals and 6 assists for 13 points in 45 games.

Hes almost at his point total for last year in around half the games.
Nice to see his point total going up.

apologies, my comment was an unneeded one.

in any case, not sure what you mean by pelech proving more in the nhl than aulie, they both have played the same # of games.

The main thing being Aulie is good enough now and playing. Pelech hasn't played in the NHL since 08/09.

I just wouldnt see it as a drop off at all playing Pelech insted of Aulie. Neither player is going to put up lots of points or eat up lots of minutes. If Pelech were healthy he could be playing the same amount as Aulie without a problem, imo.

Neither player has really proven much at the NHL level. Pelech had 3 assists and was +1 in his first 5 games, thats why I was saying hes proven more, even though the sample size isnt really big enough to judge much.

Ramage has one goal and seven assists in 14 games this year with the University of Wisconsin. Looks like another solid D prospect.

He should be a lock. IIRC he was on the gold medal team last year.

He won the gold at the under 18 WJ's.

Does anyone have an update on Wahl? I have not been able to find out anything online.

Edit - Actually, I was incorrect, he was on the under 18 WJ's the year previous, he was on the US WJ's last year.

If interested, I follow these two guys on Twitter. Both reporters in Abbotsford.. The way they are describing the game tonight, Irving is playing out of his mind.

A few quotes.

Leland Irving is ridiculous. Stoned Cody Hodgson at side of net, then sprawling glove save off Lee Sweatt's blast from point.

WOW! Standing O for Leland Irving, he robbed Lee Sweatt with a miraculous glove save.

That sequence by Irving on 2man disadvantage, robbing Hodgson and Sweatt, might be the best goaltending I've seen in two AHLHeat seasons.

We win, Moose lose.

Quote:
#AHLHeat defeat Manitoba Moose 2-1 in shootout. Leland Irving stands on his head for #Abbotsford, stops 40 of 41 shots, and 3-3 in shootout
