On the Fan960, Feaster said he has been excited about the play of Nemisz, Bouma, and Irving.
Also mentionied that Bancks, Patterson, and Keith have been good.

Looks like Irving might have taken the next step of his development. Hopefully this is a semi breakout year for him.

Yup, he needs to be an elite goalie in the AHL to show progression to the Flames brass.

Irving: 10-3-1, 2.31gaa, 0.908sv%, 1so
Great stat line but interesting with the low GAA low SV%. He must not be facing a lot of shots. A good testament to what Playfair is doing down there.

A good testament to their stellar defensive players... not mentioning any names of course.

Feaster wasn't high on the play of Brodie actually, saying he acted like he was too good for the league at times. Still putting up good numbers though.

I interviewed T.J. before the long weekend and he sounded like he was going to make the most of the opportunity to rack up minutes in the AHL. I liked his notion that making the Abbotsford team as good and successful as possible is the best thing for the whole organization.

I listened to the interview and I'm not sure I agree with your take on it. He basically just said that Brodie was adjusting and seemed to think he had more time to make plays than he actually does.

If Irving keeps up his play this year, I think he'll take the backup job next year. Hopefully that role doesn't ruin him!

Sounds like he's making some plays.. I wish I could watch.... Thanks for the comments. TJ is 20 years old, he's going to make mistakes and learn- just like the rest of the 'handy dandy prospects.

Just got back from the Heat/Rivermen game. They lost both games here 2-0 last night and 3-1 tonight. The first game they got a lot of chances, just couldn't get it past the Rivermen goalie, Allen. Tonight, they didn't look good until the 3rd where they got their one goal, but couldn't get another one.
Irving played both games and looked solid. His rebound control was iffy sometimes, but he didn't get beat because of that. Brodie was the most composed Dman out there and Chris Breen played really well. They dressed 7 Dmen and had Nyren skate on the 4th line and QB the powerplay. Nemisz's skating wasn't really an issue from what I saw. It's good to see he's improved in that area. Also, I was impressed with Bouma's all around play. Wahl, Bancks, and Patterson did not play.

Some WHL stats tonight - Howse and Leach had one assist apiece. Bennett had a goal, Reinhart had a goal and an assist, and Holland had a goal and two assists.

Intresting to see that Howse, although it sounds like he's drifted off his scoring rate from the beginning of the season still has 32 points and 18 goals in 22 games. That's impressive.
Now I don't follow the WHL, as most on this thread do, but are the Bruins a major threat in the WHL or an also ran?

Hm...hockeydb seems to list Nemisz as a Center instead of a RW. Can somebody who's watched the Heat confirm if he's been converted to C to cover, or if this is just an error on their behalf?

The Bruins look pretty good this year. Not elite good and probably won't get to the Finals, but they'll be one of your general playoff teams.

Nemisz played RW and Centre in junior. I think he's just playing RW for the Heat but I guess he's like Moss and can play where needed.

No longer a Flames prospect, but Keith Aulie played his 4th game for the Maple Leafs tonight playing just over 10 mins in the game.

not sure what staios brings that aulie doesn't at this point.
d. Sutter really deserves a hand for being the architect of this mess.

And Aulie is -1 in 5 games with 0 points yet playing sheltered minutes. At this point what does Aulie bring that a ton of our AHL D prospects dont already bring?
