I missed it last night, but my buddy was able to down Crota HM with two swords. Pretty impressive! I'm gonna try to give that a go tonight lol. I did get on in time for my group's 2nd run through, and saw my friend get the Necrochasm. Me next, damnit!

I have pretty good luck finding teams there.
Next time you're looking to raid, and I'm on, send an invite!
I've definitely done hm with 31s.

Okay Destiny experts and nerds I'm going to get back into this game. It's been a while since I played and I am at level 22. Can anyone advise what course I can take to level up the fastest? I have all my armour pieces in light armour but am only at light level 23. I'm on the PS4 with PSN membership so I have access to all the additional stuff but I haven't purchased the Dark Below add-on. Would purchasing that help level me up faster?

You can access light level 31 armor from the vanguard using vanguard marks from completing strikes, and bounties. They have changed it a little bit, in that you now need a commendation to purchase anything from the vanguard as well though. You get a commendation every time you level up to the next vanguard rank.
You'll need the dlc to reach level 32.

As long as the sword bearer is a level 32 you should be fine. And make sure you have a helmet that gives you health when you pick up an orb.

The destiny app (or bungie.net) has a section of forums.
One of the sub forums is for recruitment.
There are usually multiple threads of people per system looking for teams for vog normal, vog hard, crota normal, crota hard, nightfall/weekly, xyor, etc...
That's where I've found 100% of my raid teams, and I've now done over 25 raids like this.
I just post something like
"32 hunter looking for fresh run.
Invite mass nerder3
Have maxed hunger"
and I get picked up by a group within 2-3 minutes.
