Across the years, I have seen only 3 people using helmets with scooters. It's gotten to the point where I am not surprised by people hurting themselves on them and assuming the equivalent of reading that somebody in a car accident was ejected after not wearing a seatbelt.

RGMG when I see parents not wearing helmets out riding with their kids. Not only is it a terrible example, but there is also a slim chance your kids will end up seeing their brains on that very trip.

That’s kind of funny because I noticed that the other day actually. Family was wearing helmets while cycling, but the dad wasn’t, and I thought that’s weird, most people use see cycling wear helmets.

The guy who dangerously cut me off at an intersection, who then took the last parking spot at the building I was going to.

Okay, I laughed harder at that than I should have.
I just envision them changing their slogan to that and putting it on the sign in your avatar.
"Eat at Arby's! It's barely real meat!!"

As far as horses go...we should just exterminate them.
I mean, if you don't ride them and you don't eat them then all they do is consume resources and produce Carbon emissions.
If they serve no purpose, why keep them around?

Was it steer wrestling? That event might be a little out dated and possibly barbaric but the rest are fine, even the calf roping is fine.

I've on occasion wondered why Buffalo/Bison basically went extinct in North America in the 1800s. Did they herd and migrate in an unpredictable way that they'd just blow go right through settlements and destroy everything in their path? Hunting, fine. High demand, sure? But beavers weren't taken out till there weren't any left. Why did they do it for Buffalo/Bison?
Is there some facet of the stupidity of bison that contributed to their demise that the tiniest tip could wipe them all out? Like... Pandas? Is that partially what head smashed in buffalo jump is a testament to? With a pair of horses and some loud noises, we can run an entire herd of buffalo off a cliff?

The beaver pelt was a basic material catering to a particular fashion which was replaced by the silk top hat, thus saving the beaver.
Buffalo were very easy to kill, once the long rifle was produced, and useful right down to the bone (collected and ground into fertilizer).

I think it's pretty simple: they were too big and strong that they didn't normally need to run from most predators. And they are so big they couldn't really hide in any practical way, so they could be spotted miles away.
Compared to beavers where there are usually some ponds that were so inaccessible that trappers couldn't find them or wouldn't bother
Also buffalo gestational period is slightly longer than humans...reproducing one calf every 11 months is going to make it a lot harder to sustain/recover a population than beavers, who can spit out 1-6 kits every 4 months or so. The buffalo numbers game was just impossible.

I'm a huge helmet advocate but "100% a parenting issue" is a hyperbolic. I see kids riding around with helmets in their hands, on their handlebars, etc. So they knew leave the house with a helmet (probably because their parents told them to) and the chose to not wear it once they were out with their friends.

Eliminating cyclists when they're young is probably for the best.

I find that this is the first generation of children I'm starting to find that is more wise than smart. They know more things, but less "why" of why things are done and they'll challenge those things without knowing why they're challenging things.
Wise is learning from the mistakes of others. Smart is learning from your own mistakes.
We have so many rules and why you need these safety features now, but the kids are basically like, "Eh, it'll never happen to me. Or I'll respawn. Or, are we sure this is truly why we do this?"

In addition to the answers people have already given you, you're also operating from the false premise that "beavers weren't taken out till there (almost) weren't any left": beaver numbers were severely reduced by the end of the 19th Century. Not as badly as bison, but they went from a continental population of tens of millions down to tens of thousands by 1900.
