The history of CP shows those who post insider info least frequently (ie one or two posts a year) have the best track record.

But that’s missing the point. Whether the info CP’s self-professed insiders share is accurate or not doesn’t matter. What matters is that it’s fun to behave as though it is true. Especially if it’s in the form of cryptic GIFs. Because that #### is hilarious.

I think telling posters to simply STFU isn't the solution either. People have reservations about the accuracy of things posted, which I'm perfectly fine with.

The insiders could be true, they might be fake, but speculation is fun. Treating any information posted on a forum as a fact is difficult(for guys like me), especially now that the admins don't verify the sources.

I don't see why it's such a probem to hear guys acknowledge it. Moreover, you can always mute whomever. Sure, it gets repetitive, but so do gifs, so everyone should just stop trying to police the place and have fun however they want, as long as it doesn't slide into endless bickering without any hockey/Flames content.

I have a gut feeling the only reason some users are salty with the info they get from the Calgarypuck posters that clearly have some connections to the organization in one way or another is because they take the information that is provided to all of us to friends that don't use this website and try to be a hot shot hoping they can break news in their small friend circle, and when it doesn't turn out they look foolish to said friends.

This is a really exciting TDL because we know the direction Conroy wants to go in. Any quality speculation / rumors or potential insider information is fun and I hope the posters that provide that information don't stop.
