I have always been a fan of acquiring Domi if the price is right. If we could get him for less than a 2nd I would jump at the opportunity. Maloney and Treliving drafted him and he can play with some edge and would fit nicely with Huberdeau and Kadri in my opinion.
Huberdeau-Kadri-Domi
Dube-Lindholm-Toffoli
Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman
Lucic-Ruzicka-Lewis
Ritchie (rotates in and out with Looch from time to time)

I would rather have Duclair, instant chemistry with Huberdeau.

Would love Duclair. He's a great ambassador for the game and a hell of a player. Loved watching him with AZ.

I approve of aquiring Duclair. Shouldn't cost much either thanks to Florida's cap issues

I like Vlady T. He had a good season last year after all the injuries. Haven't watched him this year, but hes still producing near a ppg level. He's a big body that isn't scared of physical play or going into the corners. He's still shooting at 10%-12% (so the shot still has a lot of accuracy) and he's really good at finding that open ice. Just a very good goal scorer, with a game that translates quite well into playoff hockey. There's also been rumblings about wanting a change of scenery, which is usually a sign of even further upside in a trade situation.
I think he makes the flames better, both because he's a legit top-6 player that addresses the missing piece in terms of finishing ability and would also make the most of Hubby's skill-set. As a left-shot, right-winger, Vlady would fit really well on a line with Lindholm and Huberdeau, giving Hubby both a Right-handed and Left-handed shot option. That would be really helpful for the PP as well.

HNIC:
Leafs might no longer do one big swing on D.
Considering doing a move for scoring and D.
Domi seems to have found home in Chicago.
Team likes him and seems to be a fit.
Team is meeting with his agent
Marek doesn't think it is a done deal that Chi will trade him at the deadline
Friedman wonders if McCabe might be a target for Edmonton

I would imagine there will be a lot of teams interested though, which will drive the price up. I don't think we're going to get a player like Duclaire for nothing.

I would be apprehensive unless it was a real bargain. He has been wildly inconsistent with his production throughout his career. Sure, he had a career year last year playing with Huberdeau, but he seems to follow-up good seasons with poor seasons. Not to mention, he always seems to miss good portions of the season and already has this season. It could take him a while to get into the grind when he is cleared to play.
I also wouldn't count on Sutter to automatically play him with Huberdeau.
Unless Florida is giving him away, I would look elsewhere.

Welcome to Arizona Zaitsev.
Also, Dube is having a better season than Domi. Intangibles?

Wonder if the price to move Zaitsev might be Tyler Boucher ...

Even a 47 year old Bryan McCabe would better than anything they have on D.

Good ol Jake McCabe. The 2nd round pick we sent with Regehr to acquire…oh good grief Jay Feaster. You were a terrible GM.

It wasn't a great deal but Paul Byron has played 500 NHL games averaging 20 goals some seasons.
I think the big mistake was holding on too long. It's what the Flames do (Iginla, Regehr, Bouwmeester etc.) and just did with Gaudreau and Monahan.

They didn't hold on to Bouwmeester too long...they rushed a deal when they didn't even have to. He still had a year left on his contract and was playing for Canada in the Olympics shortly after.

I didn’t really know what to think about it when I seen it in the summer but after the couple times we played Vancouver and watching Garland closely,I think he would look amazing in a Flames jersey

Taking a while to get to 5000

Not sure how an injury announcement correlates to a trade to the Flames.
