Definitely pegged them as a bottom 5. Had my doubts that Johnny should start in the NHL. I had no idea how they were going to score goals.
For shame, I am definitely a slug.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

I didn't think they would be a bottom team but I did think Johnny would need a year in the AHL to transition, I was pretty wrong about that.

I actually released my tickets this year
Not because I thought the flames would suck - my wife was expecting and I didn't think it would be easy to sell the tickets off (as we probably wouldn't be able to go to many games).
I figured I'd put my name back on the list in a few years

I can't remember what I predicted, but I am sure I was thinking bottom 5.
I would be interested to se if anyone can dig up a post from the beginning of the season proving they thought the team would make the playoffs (other than Aaron Ward of course). Find me 10 posters that thought we would be in the playoffs, and I will eat crow. If not, I think we should leave the crows alone.

Almost everything that could have gone right did go right.
Will gladly eat crow to that.
But more importantly is sticking to the plan. We want a team that finishes at the top of the conference for 5+ years.

- Didn't see Flames making to playoffs at the start of the season.
- Got excited by November.
- Didn't see Flames make it through to playoffs without Giordano.
- Got excited again by February.
- Didn't see Flames make it to playoffs after losses to Colorado and St.Louis.
- Didn't see LA losing to Edmonton...
- Got really excited now!
Now, pass the salt and ketchup, please...

I am sorry for turning my back on the team after they fell behind in the first period and finding something else to do...missing a few of the epic comebacks. Lesson learned.

At the beginning of the season, I bet my gf if we didn't make the playoffs, I would buy her dinner. I honestly expected I would be giving her that meal at that time. Ends up, I'm getting the free meal now instead

Warming up to Treliving, liked the way he was exited hugging Johnny and the guys at the end of the game. He may become a good GM yet.

I had some hopes for them after the great start they had in October and November, but thought any real playoff hopes ended with the 8 game losing skid. Never really thought they'd be able to fully pull out of that hole until this week, especially not without Giordano. Only Flames team I've ever seen have this kind of resiliency is the 2004 squad

I think my crow eating is actually pretty light. I thought we could make the playoffs if everything went right and that's exactly what happened!
However near the end I did think we would be the team to drop out so I will gladly eat some crow for that!!!!

Ummmmmm. What? Green text?
I can quote about 20 of your posts without any effort at all. Here's a couple easy ones.
February 19th (They went 4-2-1)

Like I said, I'm going to blame it on that play. You can blame it on whatever you want.

Liar.
I'll eat crow for expecting playoffs in the 2016-2017 year.
I'll eat crow for expecting a Money Sophmore slump
I'll eat crow for expecting Barts to make the roster by years end
I'll eat crow for thinking Wotherspoon would slot easy
I'll eat crow for thinking Diaz is a silly bum who would lose his spot sooner or later (that one goal... mm mm mm mm mm)
I'll eat crow for thinking the Winnipeg game would the the determinant. (I actually guessed LA 2-3 weeks ago as determining game, but doubted the team to beat LA a week before the game)
I guessed correctly the results would be to the wire.
I'll eat crow for thinking "it's ok if we fall this year because: a) injury x ??? times, b) scary teams getting hot (ie: LA, Minny and Peg)
I'll eat crow for thinking LA would totally make a good run and slide right into playoffs.
I'll eat crow that JG would be sent down for a month or two.
I'll eat crow for thinking Byron would essentially perform as Bouma did this season. (I am still hopeful we keep him another year and he goes for some strength training and stick handling/break away lessons this summer)
So... if crows run out, do magpies count?

To be fair, that one crow should be considered far larger than other crows to be consumed.
I don't think the crow eating should be light for you.

I said at the start of the year, when both teams were doing so well, that I didn't think the Canucks or the Flames would make the playoffs. Happy to be wrong.
