Said in game thread, most of our issues tonight originated from 3 inexperienced D, directly or indirectly.

Whether they missed a clearing pass, a coverage, not holding the zone when our forwards thought they would, or, it meant our usual 4 and 5 guys had to play 2 and 3 type minutes, that had the team scrambling. I thought forwards played actually pretty well and with energy.

Obviously key is tomorrow. Go on the road and win 3 of 4, that’s just fine even with the other issues around the team. Makes the difference down the stretch playing .750 vs .500 hockey.

They were lucky it was not 2 or 3 to nothing after the 1st period.
The first I’ll give you, not the second.

Need a win tomorrow to “salvage” the road trip.
3-1 road trip would be outstanding...not "salvage"

I’d prefer we trade some of our core players first. Johnny, Brodie, Hamonic, Backlund....get something for them while you can. This team needs major changes. Load up on picks for the upcoming draft.

Seasons are precious things. And if you have the chance to swing a move that will put you over the top... you should do it.

These Flames are not predestined to lose in the first round no matter what roster they ice. If you can make a season-saving move that adds to the core in the future as well... you should do it! Sitting on your hands is such a Flames thing to do and it's a huge part of the reason why they haven't added an impact player mid-season in eight years!

Monahan can play a 200 ft game, but too often he chooses to simply troll the slot. When he engages as he has at times this year, he's a solid 2C on a contender. When he simply tries to play the role of finisher, he is a catalyst for mediocrity.

3-1 against Vancouver (good), San Jose (trash), Los Angeles (trash) and Anaheim (trash) shouldn't be considered "outstanding" in the slightest

3-1 roadtrip is nice ... but you are all forgetting the Flames play like garbage at home. To make up for the pathetic performances at home, they basically need to go undefeated on the road.

Poor Petersen. So many pucks in the bread basket.

I think it could be a good time to trade Brodie because he’s having such an awesome season and is an UFA. But I think the Flames would get $0.60 on the $1.00 for the other 3 right now.

If they do get in, they are likely gonna play Edmonton, Vancouver or Vegas in the first round. They’re going to be far from big underdogs in any of those series and could easily give either of those teams a good go and win a series.

The nature of the playoff format has given one of the pretty average pacific five a chance to make the conference finals. The path to the third round from the pacific Isn’t daunting at all.

I would much rather have the flames in the playoffs with a half decent shot at the conference finals as opposed to a 2% shot at a lotto pick.

Once again you are fooling yourself if you think a complementary winger is going to put this team over the top. How has Toffoli done putting the Kings over the top? Explain to me how Toffoli is going to make a poor defense play better? Also Toffoli can only play on one line so who's going to score when he's not on the ice a scoring is an issue throughout the forward lines. Acquiring players on trade deadline day and July 1st are the worst two days in hockey for most GM's.

LOL - I just checked and he made one single post which did congratulate the flames... and complain about the third period effort.

I really would like this team to sell. If they can't show up against a loser team like the Kings or the others since the Montreal game, then why bother putting any hopes that they will figure things out down the stretch. Maximize the returns for guys and restock the farm. This team has no prospects that are remotely close and none that figure to be impact players. They need players who show up all season.
