I hate blaming goaltending, but this loss was 98% on Smith.
It's so frustrating to be the better team and routinely lose.

Flames 2, Habs 1, Mile Smith -2

That’s the scoreboard.

Honestly Peters has been pretty patient with Smith in the media - time to come out and say we need better goaltending publicly.

That was the most depressing game of the year, worse than Pittsburgh. The Flames should have ran away with that one, but Smith couldn't make a save when he needed to. I'll be miserable till Saturday, they better well beat the Oilers.

All 3 were saveable, and that was probably one of his better games lately.

I'm through with watching Mike Smith games.

I hate to say it but BT should be fired for all his FA signings and his complete failure to get a goalie.

Good trades and contracts for existing players but just not good otherwise.

We all saw this coming. Why do we insist on throwing away games? We could be up there with Nashville. Instead, we are no better than the Oilers.

Robbed of any points by our own goaltender.

Did not deserve that at all. Totally outplayed them and end up with zilch.

Smith is too much of a headcase. Even for a goalie. Hopefully he only sees a few more starts this year. ####ing horrendous.

Smith has had plenty of chances to prove he's still the starter. He's blown them time and again. Nobody should feel bad at this point that he lost the net. It's 100% on him.

Now we can see if Rittich can do more than just look good as a backup. I'm hopeful that he gives us at least league average goaltending as the de facto starter.

We absolutely dominated them and we still lost. Mike Smith should not start another game for the rest of the season. Absolutely done with him. Refs were garbage as usual. This lose stings.

What the hell was with Peters and not starting Rittich when he played so well against the habs in Montreal?! Mind boggling.

I hate Smith. So much.

It's going to be extremely tough for anyone to defend Mike Smith starting over Rittich after that last goal tonight. Here's to hoping Rittich can take the net because if he can't, Treliving is going to be in a tough spot.

Another year, another disappointing flames team. Not sure how i get upset by this franchise every year for the better part of the last 3 decades.

Smith sucks.

Pretty subpar game by gio too. It was a great game by Brodie though.

It sucks when you see the whole team bust their asses the whole game and have a lead to show for it, only for Smith to take a dump all over it with his sieve saves.

FU Smith. You’ve calling out everyone in seasons past, I hope the whole team shames you in the locker room

That’s a goal that will cause action from this coaching staff and potentially the management group.

It’s been culminating to this point. Just an absolute back breaker.

Rittich is gonna a shot at being the number one guy now.

I think Smith seriously tore something in his Groin or W/E and never recovered from it.

He pushed way to hard to make it back last year and just totally shredded his ability to close up the pads and lateral movement.
