I’ll post a picture tomorrow from my PC.
Those look great.

I’ll post a pic of my custom vanity when I get the drawer fronts installed.

I had someone in cleaning my vents and the guy cut a hole in a vent in my furnace room; I have no idea why and didn’t notice it until he was gone. I tried using duct tape to hold the piece in place but it won’t stay in place.

I bought Gorilla tape which is supposed to hold better. Will it stay in place given the heat? If not, would it work if I put something under the tape to insulate it. Any ideas appreciated.

You want to use something like this:

But why not call them back and have them fix it?

You can buy aluminum tape (available at any hardware store) specifically designed for duct work, pretty much like thin aluminum foil with an adhesive layer. It works great for covering up such holes and will not come off.

I’m considering that.

Here she be. We ordered our own hardware (and drilled our own holes). Came with the vanity, counter and under mount sink. Matching backslash was a small upgrade.

We're wondering about getting a air purifier for our house to help with the air quality. Does anyone have any recommendations? I was leaning towards getting a system that is connected to the furnace/hvac system.

Any help or suggestions would be awesome.

Huuuge difference for me. I have two running almost constantly, one upstairs one downstairs (not connected to the furnace) and it's a night and day difference. Originally bought one for forest fire/smoke season, but they ended up becoming permanent fixtures.

What unit did you buy (if you don't mind sharing)? Thanks!

My new vanity:

Only a temporary faucet is installed, and I still have to build a medicine cabinet.

And my shower glass:

Both are Honeywell HPA300. They're obnoxiously large, but do the job so I put up with them.

Re: Air purifiers; stock up on the filters when they're in stock and a good price if you can. I bought an expensive Philips air purifier a few years ago and then even though they still sold the unit for a while and a similar model now, they have discontinued sale of the filters. Really ridiculous to not continue to provide filters for units that aren't even that old.
Couldn't even find replacement knock offs anywhere online for a long time and when I finally did it was super expensive.

Looks damned good. Did you do the work yourself?

It was a combination of my own work and others.

I did:
Installing blocking
Installed flooring
Installed baseboard
Electrical finishing / light fixture install
Assembled and installed vanity and drawers
Installed towel bar and TP
Installed mirror.
Installed shower door.
Installed shower control, shower head, tub filler.
Replaced door hardware

Still to come:
Install permanent faucet
Build and install medicine cabinet

I didn’t do:
Demo (except flooring)
Plumbing and electrical rough in
Drywall
Tile and grout
Plumbing final
Countertop

We had to replace our hot water tank in July, and have noticed a drop in water pressure since then. Any ideas what might causing that. Is it something I could troubleshoot/fix, or is it job for a plumber?

Thanks in advance

If you don't mind me asking, how log did each stage take? (Demo, acquisition of materials, cleaning/ rough in and final install and final touches)

I'm assuming it would take around 30-50 hours to do (or around two full weekends of work), but I worried such a timeline is wildly incorrect.

Are there any valves that aren't fully open? When it was installed, were new pipes that were a smaller diameter used?

Rona by McKnight has two bins of off cut lumber out front for sale. Lots of wood sizes but I saw many 2x4x4 and 4x6x4's there. $3 each. Going fast - I'd reccommend calling 1st to see what's left.

Any cedar, by chance?

I always look through those bins and have found great deals on larger things like PT 2x12's.

I wasn't looking too closely - but didn't see any obvious cedar. Most of it was non treated. I have a feeling these are remnants from a large build package - so many off cuts the same exact size was odd.

Didn't think so!

I think they just go through their yard occasionally and cut off 4 ft sections where the other half is too damaged for people to select(since you usually go back to the yard and pick out the best stuff). I don't find the 2x4's to be good value(since it is a flat price) but the larger stuff can be handy.
