Bill was a big part of a group called The Christmas Carol project that is a big tradition in Edmonton but came through Calgary a few times. A talented group of musicians but Bill was at the forefront as Scrooge.

He came back to our condo after a show in Banff in the early 90s. Nice enough guy. But you could see the moment the penny dropped and he realized our friend wasn’t going to sleep with him, and he split.
Bourne & Macleod ripping it up at the North Country Fair (‘92?) is one of my top live music memories.

My brother played the hell out of Doucette's Mama Let Him Play when I was a kid. I knew it by heart.
i had band rehearsal last night - we made sure to give lots of love to 'mama let him play'
our drummer hadn't yet heard the news and couldn't figure out why we all wanted to play it

He's been in a million things. I remember him as the Captain that Holt replaced in Brooklyn 99 and as Mike on Lucky Louie. He was on Cheers, Seinfeld, and of course Friends. RIP one of the most recognizable character actors.
