I guess we ended up winning the Smid trade after all
Funny thing is the Oilers went after a guy who's been usurped by Antti "freaking" "four teams in eight months" Niemi in net in Montreal

I guess Brossoit isn't getting it done.

Montoya is probably an upgrade on Broissoit.

Odd timing to make it public. Brossoit is currently sitting on the bench in the game against the Ducks. What if he has to go in and relieve Talbot?

He’s still in the organization.

Broissoit is 3-7-1 with a 3.22 GAA and a 0.886 save %
Not getting it done.

I'm guessing the information was leaked. But then, these are the Oilers.

So Montoya is signed thru next season. End of broissiot as an oiler I would assume.
So flames won that trade too then?

The pick is a 5th in 2018 unless Montoya plays 7 games with the Oilers, in which case it becomes a 4th.
Kind of a waste of an asset. But shows they've lost total confidence in Broissoit.
Montoya is sub .900 this season after 4 games, he has not played a lot.

He's not an NHL goaltender, and never will be, he had some nice spurts in the AHL but wasn't very good there either.
He'll finish his career in the North Korean Professional Hockey League playing for the Pyongyang Kims

So what you're saying is, they're moving Talbot and Broissoit will be the newly annointed #1? Why wait to get the best goalie not in the NHL when you can just keep him.
