They needed someone to take over the Italian-Canadian golf tournament after Mangiapane gets traded tomorrow.

Yes. Pettersen hasn't played center in about six years.

Weird, Damiani looks like he was a point per game his first year in the AHL and has gradually regressed each season since.
Anyways, looks like AHL fodder for AHL fodder.

Watched Riley for 3 years here in Kitchener. Always liked him, hard working kid.

I'm a little sad for Emilio, since his favorite team growing up was the flames, but he was never going to get a chance here.

Damiani was coached by Jay McKee (former teammate of Rhett Warrener) and Dennis Wideman (former Conroy teammate) in Kitchener. Flames also have a former Kitchener employee on their hockey ops staff now too.

I always thought Damiani plays a lot like Derek Ryan. So if that works for you....

This just shows how weak the centre ice position is for the Flames. They don't even have centres at the AHL level.
The organization has plenty of wingers but no centres. You can see why the Flames are so adamant in acquiring Mercer. They couldn't get one from the UFAs, and Marky is their best chip left. It could be another 4 years before a drafted centre makes an impact.
