It's time wasting, pure and simple. GS is right, a tie doesn't give Panama any reward, which they get if they win, so a Canada goal would open up the game and stop some time wasting. Panama players and coaches want the extra $ in their pockets.

OMG and this embellishment is even worse with a another near death roll by the player without being touched.
This is the first international soccer I've watched in years because I couldn't stand the diving back when I tried to watch it before and I've literally turned it off after 5 minutes. Yikes, what an embarrassing display of sport.

Time wasting would be so easy to fix. Just add the appropriate Amount of time at the end and round up a little for time wasting. Teams so it because it works. You can waste 7 or 8 minutes and only 3 get added on.
