Just shuffled onto Stereo by The Watchmen (an absolute banger), and am just now learning they are a Canadian band. Rolling through their library now. Any suggestions?

Okay, so listening to The Watchmen the other day sent me down a nostalgic rabbit hole. I ended up reminiscing of a band I hadn't thought of in decades: The Doughboys.
So, easy to say not a great band, but when I was 13/14, this band was it. I'm embarrassed to say that now, but you'll have to forgive my pubescent sense of art.
Anyways, here's the Doughboys.

The Watchmen's Silent Radar is an incredible album that gets no respect IMO.
I never understood all the love for The Tragically Hip (and I'm a Kingston kid)...To me they are a a solid band but very typical of 90s Canadian rock Silent Radar is as good as anything I've heard from The Hip.

Winnipeg represent!
always fun to see someone discover a new band for the first time (more or less)
I think Cali is right that In the Trees is their gold standard
I'm often partial to a band's initial rough around the edges debut album and I think the Watchmen's McLaren Furnace Room is no exception
will never forget the first time I saw them- they were playing multiple nights at the Power Plant at UofA, they just rocked the place down, unfortunately my best friend's then girlfriend (now wife of 20+ years) meathead/unhinged ex boyfriend showed up and was literally going to kill him so we had to escape through the kitchen..anyways they were playing the next night , so all good

no apology required- I think they were a fine representative of the genre. being college age in Canada in the late 80s/early 90s was a fine time there was a nice circuit of band (yes with the Hip near the top of the foodchain) that just crossed the country back and forth and played pretty good music. there were a couple bands.. I won't name them that didn't work at all for me, but there tended to be a pretty good band (propped up by Much Music yes) in 'your town' most weeks!
k im just not going to respond to your #### anymore because i have better things to do like #### my model girlfriend rather then try to convince people like you of commonly held hockey knowledge.
