Default NHLPA poll: Crosby most complete player...again.

Quote:
Crosby earned 38.4% of the votes for "most complete player" ahead of Aleksander Barkov of the Florida Panthers (14.6%). In the five seasons the NHLPA has voted on this category, Crosby has won it every year.

Crosby was a close second (13.6%) to Ryan O'Reilly of the Nashville Predators (14.5%) in "the player you'd most want to take a faceoff on your team."

But Crosby (11.6%) finished a distant second to Connor McDavid (48.7%) as "the forward you'd want on your team if you needed to win one game." Andrei Vasilevskiy of the Tampa Bay Lightning (46.9%) won the goalie category for the third straight season, while Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche won for defensemen (56.4%) for the second straight season.

I'd take Crosby as the one game player too. His desire to win is unbeatable. McBaby wants to be given the win, Crosby wants to be the winner.

Crosby would be a highly effective and sought-after player even if he was a 40 pt guy. You can’t really say that about other superstars in the league today.

The most complete player says Backlund is one of the hardest guys in the league to play against. That’ll do.

I saw some reports after the deadline where he'd consider being moved to Colorado, Vancouver, or Toronto to try and help the Penguins rebuild. Might be complete BS, but I've heard talking heads say that Pittsburgh is done and the haul for Sid could help them start over.

If him and MacKinnon and Makar were on the same NHL team...damn would that be something. If the Flames are going to suck for a few years. What the hell, do it because I want to see it!

What did Ron MacLean say? Not about if, but how many?

Were there direct quotes from Sid, or just speculation from the talking heads?

Most surprising result is T-Mobile Arena being voted 6th in best ice.

Also interesting to think about where Crosby ranks all time?

Gretzky, Mario, Orr ahead of him.

Is he 4? 5?

I think it's more schite talk at the fifth tier media level. Think Jason Gregor/Michael Rupp/Terry Ryan types.

Sid himself would never say any of this publically.

Agreed on the top 3.

After that, you have another 3, IMO: Howe, Crosby and Jagr (probably in that order, IMO)

Wyshinski is annoying. Why no direct link to the ranking? Not hard to find, but you would think he would source it right in his piece.

Related question - who is the 2nd best D of all time. And where do they rank in the overall rankings?
And is it Nik Lindstrom?

Lidstrom is up there. The short list is probably him, Bourque, Potvin. Makar has a shot.

For me, probably Potvin, Lindstrom and Doug Harvey.

Makar should enter the chat at some point

I'm surprised they didn't say Sid wants to be traded to Edmonton so he can play with McDiver.

Lidstrom. No n. It has an umlaut but I can't make one happen.
