They introduced that three or so years ago on the Sonata. I think it would be really useful for people that have really tight garages where they can barely open the car door. That seems like the largest use case.

2001 Civic engine swap - Believe bent rods or valves so need replacement Currently has D17a1 non vtec engine. I can get the D17a2 with wiring and ECU from JDM but will there be any issues with the main computer not recognizing the engine? What other wiring might I have to do?

Thanks Daughters first car, person we bought from cleaned engine, changed oil and cleared codes before we bought it. looked and drove solid but obviously wasn't at this point thinking it might be scrap

I know we致e got some super cool Toyota Sienna owners on here, so just a bit of a heads up. Got our all season run flat tires swapped for our winters today and they had severe wear on all 4 tires. I知 not sure the exact mileage, but we only ran them for 3 season and I知 going to guess 30K kms or so. Sounds like they wear out very quickly, specifically on the inner portion when they are at their end of life.

Sounds like you may need an alignment as the camber may be too negative if the inside of the tires are wearing.

Hahaha, yes, unknowingly that is how I was rolling.

I suspected alignment, but doing some research online it seems it is common for how the tires wear end of life. I値l keep a close eye on the winters to see if there is any unusual wear. I definitely will not be buying another set of run flats.

I've noticed an increased amount of cars running significant neg camber on the rears right from the factory. I had a G6 and a civic that were both like this when set to factory specs. I only had that civic for few months so don't know what the wear effect would have been, but the G6 wore the tires to the cords on the inside edge way sooner than it should have.

I'm going to store a car through the winter for the first time...is there anything missing from this list that would be good to do (or not do)?

https://www.canadadrives.ca/blog/mai...car-for-winter

It'll be in attached garage and I could easily take it for a short spin every month or two keep the tires happier and fluids moving a bit...

Full tank + fuel stabilizer + trickle charger, and you're fine to leave it until spring.

I always throw some bounce sheets throughout the engine bay, in the tail pipes and I the floor and under the dash. Supposed to keep mice away.

Plus it'll smell like spring flowers when you fire it up in April!

Trickle charger connected the entire time? Necessary or worthwhile to disconnect the battery, too?

It's a "battery maintainer" you want, and yeah, leave it on the whole time.

I've got one of these, it works great. You can leave it plugged in as it is smart enough to sort out what it needs to do.

Typically toe kills tires, not camber.

I use one of these ones to top up a battery of a vehicle that's been parked for a few months. I'm very happy with it. My parents also do stupidly short trips in their vehicle (multiple trips less than 5 mins in duration multiple times a day), so I'll use this to top up their battery before a cold snap in the winter.

Another vote for the NOCO series of battery tenders. I used an old Genius 1100 to keep the Aston’s battery topped up over its first winter, and I upgraded to a Genius 10 model for its ‘supply mode’ this past year.

Aaaaand I just bought a Land Rover. RIP wallet.

'08 Range Rover Sport S/C (4.2L blown V8), kept in fantastic mechanical shape. Not 'perfect' aesthetically, but what 14-year-old vehicle is? It's more than enough for what I need it for.

Shouldn't be an issue, you've got yourself a top notch amphibious exploration vehicle. A transporter of the gods if you will
