The Flames over the past five years have been the opposite of that. Garbage then the comeback kids winning a playoffs series heroically against a stronger team. Garbage again. Then second in the whole NHL as one of the most exciting renditions ever to wear the flaming C. Then underwhelming in the playoffs. I’ll admit they’ve been meh so far this year, but man.

Yup, I am quite down on the team. I see little actual progression of the group. They have a good year, followed by a down year for half a decade. No year have we seen any kind of steady progression over the past year (outside of last year, which i am of the opinion, was a pure aberration).

I am absolutely cheering for this team, and if watching games, following social media, amd CP time wastage is any measure of fandom, then I am way too over vested.

ARZ have good players so this game will be a challenge. CGY just needs to support the puck in all three zones - players make themselves available for each other. Trust their teammates, read off them and just go to work.

Gio has mentioned numerous times what style they like to play that gives them the most success. They know. Move the puck quickly, crisply and smartly.

Focus on execution and playing fast!
