Damn, tough day if you're 76 years old. Died in a hospice with ex-wife Tenille at his side.

God I hadn't thought of them in years. They were the power couple of easy listening radio stations for a long time especially with Love will keep us together.

RIP Captain

I also remember that there was a teen musical spoof called Get Over it, which was loosely based around Shakespears Mid Summer Nights Dream, and the opening was a great send up to Love will keep us together.

I remember the Captain and Tennille show. Those were the days when all you needed was one hit single and you got your own TV variety show. Captain and Tennille. Sonny & Cher. Tony Orlando and Dawn. Donny & Marie. Sha Na Na.

The 70s were so weird.

That was the day of the variety hour because they were so cheap to make. They were the prime time versions of SNL, but at times really awkward because musical acts don't make the best of comedians.

Remember that you also had shows like the Carol Burnett show, or other skit comedy shows at the dinner hour.
