According to The Hollywood Reporter, which was first to report the news, the half-hour comedy received a straight-to-series order with 10 episodes of Cobra Kai, set 30 years after the original film. In this next chapter of the saga, Johnny is down on his luck and re-opens the Cobra Kai dojo on his search for redemption. This puts him at odds with Daniel, who, though successful, is trying to find balance in his life without Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita, who died in 2005).
So much potential in this. I hope they can do the original(s) justice (1 and 2). Did 'Stranger Things' kick off an 80's nostalgia trip in TV? If so I am completely ok with that.
Interesting because that reboot just really didn't work, the strongest part of it was Jackie Chan who was good in everything, but Jaden Smith was really bad, and it didn't make much sense.
The only thing I wonder is this sounds a lot like the third Karate Kid in that the down on his luck teacher opens the Cobra Kai dojo with the help of a former over the top villain student and goes after Daniel who's opened a tree shop.
In the end Johnny had been pretty much redeemed first of all by showing sportsmanship when Daniel beat him, and then afterwards in the parking lot where he really saw that the whole Cobra philosophy was a bust.
So is Johnny going full blow villain again?

Is it the original actors? If so that could be pretty entertaining.

William Zabka is still ranked as one of the best villain teenage actors of the 80's.
Maybe they need to bring Mike Barnes in from the third movie, he must want some revenge as well.
Piece of trivia, the actor Sean Kanan was nearly killed in the scene where he was thrown through the door out of the Cobra Kai Dojo. He had to shoot that scene 20 times and then went on vacation and passed out in Vegas. The Doctors found that he had 20 quarts of blood in his abdomen from a ruptured abdomen wall. When he told the doctor that he couldn't have an operation because he might lose his role in the movie. The Doctor replied that "He didn't think he could even save his life, let alone the movie role"

I think the doctors should have been concerned with the three people who had all of the I blood stolen!
