The underlying point, though - the lionizing of mediocrity and demonizing of intellectualism in popular culture - is valid.
EDIT: Also, re: North Korea, has this one been posted yet?

It has not been posted. But of course we're all in total disbelief such a tweet exists. I'm just waiting till we get to the point tweets he made at 6am are contradicted by 6pm. We know he has it in him to make it happen.

Good job giving North Korea exactly what they want, Trump. Their regime is predicated on the fabricated perception that America wants to destroy them, justifying their huge military and nuclear buildup. He just legitimized that perception. Twat.
Has anyone ever heard him say Kim Jong Un's name? He referred to him as "he" in this statement.
Anyway let's take time out from pondering the apocalypse to laugh at one of the biggest Trump cultists going full ######

Mueller is making nuclear war with North Korea more likely by distracting the administration. Blood will be on special counsel'e hands.
The thrust of the article is that when America became less authoritarian in the 60s, and everyone was encouraged to find their own reality, society became less rational and citizens found less common ground. Feels replaced reals. And that was true of both the left and the right.
The collapse of mainstream, big-tent media and the rise of social media has supercharged that trend. To the point where citizens now live in mutually incomprehending tribes drawn by emotionally-satisfying narratives.
Same thing is happening in Canada.

So when Trump decides to level the NK leadership, what next? Millions of brainwashed souls with no leaders. China isn't going to let the US waltz in and run the joint. This is going to be a disaster.
Well good thing Trump isn't insane enough to take this serio.....god ####ing damnit

Texas megachurch pastor Robert Jeffress, one of President Trump’s evangelical advisers who preached the morning of his inauguration, has released a statement saying the president has the moral authority to take out North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
“When it comes to how we should deal with evil doers, the Bible, in the book of Romans, is very clear: God has endowed rulers full power to use whatever means necessary — including war — to stop evil,” Jeffress said. “In the case of North Korea, God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong Un.”
Jeffress said in a phone interview that he was prompted to make the statement after Trump said that if North Korea’s threats to the United States continue, Pyongyang will be “met with fire and fury like the world has never seen.”
The biblical passage Romans 13 gives the government authority to deal with evildoers, Jeffress said. “That gives the government to the authority to do whatever, whether it’s assassination, capital punishment or evil punishment to quell the actions of evildoers like Kim Jong Un,” he said.
He said that many pacifist Christians will cite Romans 12, which says, “Do not repay evil for evil,” but Jeffress says that that passage is referring to Christians, not to the government.
“A Christian writer asked me, ‘Don’t you want the president to embody the Sermon on the Mount?’ ” he said, referring to Jesus’s famous sermon. “I said absolutely not.”
^^^ Evangelical Christians are the least Christian people on the planet. They twist scripture to their liking and routinely misquote passage to fit their cause. The fact that Trump takes counsel from one of these clowns is more proof of his woeful ignorance.

^"Hey there devout preacher of Jesus' teachings. You seem like someone that believes the world would be better if everyone followed the teachings of Jesus Christ. Sooooo.....do you want Trump to act like a Christian?"
"Nope."
Jesus just rolled over in his grave after that one.
