Maybe. But I've liked them a lot over the last month. I've wanted Shore in for a while so I don't mind him in, and without Versteeg and Tkachuk, the lineups were always going to be thin.

I think the error is Jankowski out and Hathaway in. I don't mind sitting Jankowski, because he's been meh (the first NYI goal was on him to a degree - lost the faceoff and did nothing about it). But I think Hathaway's been worse.

We should just sign Rene Borque. Doesn't he need another chance? He could be put on the top line RW by GG.

janko is the softest player in the lineup.

Except he has good speed, size, and skill. He's an excellent 2-way center, always in the right spot coming back on the backcheck... Plus he can score and setup some beauties. Shore over Janko?? Not in my books

That's a fourth line, sport. That's a fourth line. And I'd put that fourth line up as one of the worst in the NHL, right up there with the Flames other fourth line.

FML.

And you just know GG is going to match these plugs up against McDavid at some point with the third pairing on the ice. You know it's going to happen.

Sounds like it beats the casino. Lol.

Years ago, we used to go for nice dinners before most games, but with families now we haven't in years.

Edit: Thanks for the suggestion. Reservation booked!

If you get there early enough and show your tickets, you get free parking for the game too.

This game, and Tkachuk's health will write the rest of the season for me. This is a team that everyone else has no problem kicking the piss out of, but we love not showing up for important games.

Despite the last loss, they have been playing really good hockey. This needs to be a statement game, and a statement game against the Oilers is a pretty lopsided score.

5-0 Flames.

I'm not asking Janko to be the next coming of Otto who had a genuine mean streak, and would clobber people.

But I'd like to see a little more out of Janko in terms of actually using his size and weight to lean on people, and to go to hard spots.

I also need to feel like the Hathaway experiment is almost over, after his audition last year, he's been a complete let down this year.

hathaway is 10x the player lomberg is.

Can't squeeze blood from a stone. There's a reason the flames have traded for Lazar/Shore and picked up Stewart in a calendar year. Need warm bodies.

Monahan gets top ice time without doing any of that stuff. Understandable that Jankowski feels being hard on the puck and getting your nose dirty is optional.

Fair enough, and I don't disagree, but the roles are different. The first line is really about creating space, and finding space.

The third line is pretty much about taking away space and filling spaces.

A guaranteed 25+ goals a year might have a little to do with that though. I dunno, I'm just spitballing here.
