Hopefully, the team follows through on this. I'm baffled that Treliving is stating that the team needs another right handed d-man. This team is constantly picking up slow vets for "Depth", when we have perfectly good young d-men in the system. I understand that you want to put the team in the best position to win, but enough is enough. Kylington, Andersson, and Valimaki are all ready for some kind of role on the team.

Valimaki is just immensely skilled.

It is surely a competitive league, but I've heard players refer to it as a league that's nowhere near what the AHL or KHL offers in terms of game play, preparation, coaching etc.

Take Valimaki's numbers with a grain of salt and be happy he's playing games and a significant role after missing so much time.

Dreger has ... but not sure I put that as a 100% guarantee that Treliving has.

Even if he did say it it’s hard to criticize without knowing who the player is. Could be another Petrovic type or something. We still need veterans in the AHL and cheap depth isn’t a bad thing in the case of injuries.

My thought on that "leak" was that it was to put pressure on Kylington and his agent to get signed. Veterans are signing for anything from league min to just under 1M, so perhaps it was a way of signalling that the market is there and fall in line?

Ward said he will try Vali, Mackey and Kylington on the right side. Apparently, Vali is now playing on the right side in Finland

GW: Valimaki is playing on his off-side now in Finland, so he may be a guy who is able to slip over. I really liked what I saw from Connor Mackey in the pause. I think he would be able to slide over. Same for Oliver Kylington. We’ve got some guys we can talk to.
